About the Owners

Ellsworth Glacier View Cabins are owned by Silke and Scott Massey. The property was purchased in October of 2018 and construction on the main lodge began in Spring of 2019.

Scott grew up in rural New England as an avid outdoors enthusiast. He was taught how to hunt and fish by his grandfather which planted a dream of one day living in the ultimate outdoorsman’s paradise – Alaska. At 18 years old, Scott joined the US Army with the promise of his first assignment leading him to Alaska. Scott was stationed at Fort Wainright and lived in the Interior of Alaska for eight years. His military career led him to Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Korea and Germany. Scott was fortunate to have traveled to more than 30 countries while serving in the Army. His dream of living in Alaska eventually became a reality when the company he is currently employed with opened a domicile in Anchorage in 2007. Scott holds a Masters Coast Guard Captain license and enjoys fishing, hiking and skiing.

Silke (pronounced Silka) was born and raised in Germany and moved to Alaska in 1998. She grew up skiing in the Alps and was a certified ski instructor. Silke has worked in the medical field for 27 years and has served the Alaska community, having lived in Anchorage, on Kodiak Island and in Palmer. She enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing and fishing. Silke is First Aid/ BLS and ACLS certified.

Scott and Silke have made their home in Palmer Alaska where they live with Derby, their two-year-old Jack Russel Terrier who rules their household. All their children are grown and were raised to enjoy the outdoors and respect the beautiful world we live in. Together, Scott and Silke enjoy traveling, fishing with family and friends, and most of all, staying at their property in Bowen Anchorage.
